I am so proud to reveal the branding for\u00a0Kvarken Film Hub, an\u00a0Interreg Aurora<\/a>\u00a0funded project, that focuses on uniting the film industries across the Kvarken strait and beyond.<\/p>\n

Kvarken Film Hub is one of the more wide-reaching branding projects I\u2019ve done, both in my own creative challenge, and how large the scope of it all was. And the challenge? To design a visual identity that captures the energy of the joint co-operative nature of the project. This project isn\u2019t just about a logo; it\u2019s about building a digital and physical representation where creators, producers, and talent can thrive together.<\/p>\n

As always, when I start working on a project, I try to gather keywords and associations I get from the name and its purpose. So it goes like \u201cWater.. Map.. Nordic.. Ocean.. Waves..\u201d and so on. And from this I started doodling on symbols and trying out different combinations with letters, icons, doodles and everything I can use. So here we landed on a very \u2018deep\u2019 icon, with lots of subliminal messaging, and I love those. In the icon we have the waves from the sea, they can also be seen as the Kvarken moraines for instance. Furthermore, if looking at a map, the Ostrobothnia and V\u00e4sterbotten regions form a \u2018K\u2019 beside each other. Most importantly the waves in the icon form a letter \u2018K\u2019 for Kvarken.<\/p>\n

The people behind Kvarken Film Hub are some incredible creative people that have done amazing work to promote living film in the region. And I am sure this project will come to very good use for creators in the industry. The importance of a culture, where people create and thrive in film, can not be understated and is now needed more than ever.<\/p>\n
